چکیده
A novel adsorbent-activated carbon-loaded cellulose composite bead (AC-CCB) was synthesized by sol-gel conversion for the removal of methylene blue (MB) from an aqueous solution. The adsorbent characterized Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), and X-ray energy dispersive (EDAX). maximum dye found to be 96.5, 92.3, 81.8 %, corresponding MB concentrations 25, 50, 100 mgL-1, respectively. Isotherm kinetic study were carried out with AC-CCB dose 1.0 g L-1, a shaking speed 125 rpm, initial concentration ranging 25-100 mg L-1. In order kinetics adsorption onto AC-CCB, temperature fixed at 298 K, whereas, isotherm study, varied 318 K. process followed pseudo-second-order rate constant (k2) 28.7x10-2, 11.1x10-2 9.41x10-2 g.mg.min-1 50 Freundlich, Langmuir, Sips models fit well data. negative values positive suggested that spontaneous endothermic.

متن کاملAdsorption and Desorption Kinetics Behaviour of Methylene Blue onto Activated Carbon
In the present work investigations on a potential use of activated carbon for the removal of Methylene Blue (MB) from wastewater are presented. Adsorption kinetics of methylene blue has been studied using reaction-based and diffusion-based models. Three kinetic models, namely, pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order and the Elovich are analyzed at the temperature of 298 K for the reaction-based...

متن کاملAcrylated Composite Hydrogel Preparation and Adsorption Kinetics of Methylene Blue.
By using cyclodextrin (α-CD) self-assembly into a hydrogel with the triblock copolymer Pluronic F127, nanomicrocrystalline cellulose was introduced into a gel system to form a composite CNC-β-CD/α-CD/Pluronic F127 hydrogel (CCH). CCH was modified further by grafting acrylic acid to form a novel acrylated composite hydrogel (ACH). The swelling degree of ACH was 156 g/g. Adsorption isotherms show...
